taken during the Revolutionary War.
None of the information provides glowing reports of kind treatment; in
fact, most are horror stories. We
will probably never really know
the names of all these prisoners and
their hardships, unless someone digs
up the details. This assignment is
usually left to the genealogist who
spends years researching every
available record. After all, this is
an excellent source for family stories
to passed on. Therefore, on this
4th of July, we owe them a thanks for all the digging. Please, let us
embrace the stories of our ancestors and pass them on to the little children who naturally crave to know their own family history.
