Salem, a Moravian Village
Anyone who has visited the charming village of Salem in North Carolina marvels at its preservation. The village was founded in 1766 and was modernized by a system of waterworks which was piped into the individual homes using oak pipes. This drawing was reproduced by permission of the Archives of the Moravian Church in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
