Bald Head Island
The Bald Head Light House is called "Old Baldy". It is the oldest light house still standing in North Carolina, build ca 1795. The old building had to be replaced in 1817 due to beach erosion which survived until 1903. In 1958 a modern light house was erected on Oak Island.
